Alongside the buzz around her upcoming Cinemalaya film Open Endings, Janella also faced persistent rumors linking her to co-star Klea Pineda.
In an interview with Bianca Gonzalez on the Cinema One talk show The B Side, Janella once again addressed the allegations.
“Both parties have already answered the question. So, kung ‘yun pa rin ‘yung iniisip niyo, so be it,” Janella bravely stated.
Both Janella and Klea have previously denied the rumors in past interviews, with Janella saying, “What you see is what you get.”
In the same interview, Janella also opened up about a wild rumor she once encountered in her career. “Meron intriga noon na I was the reason why someone passed away. What? Kasi I had the relationship with that person. That was the worst, being thrown that assumption. I don't get how that came about,” she shared.
With her first-ever queer role in a film, Janella also took a stand on the importance of LGBTQIA+ representation and expressed her support for same-sex marriage.
“I think everyone should have the right to be able to marry who they wanna marry, to love who they want to love. And please, pakipasa na ‘yung SOGIE Bill,” Janella expressed.
Meanwhile, Janella also reflected on the truths she has learned about herself throughout her years in showbiz.
“Ako, I think, I learned that I'm very resilient. Kasi sa dami ng pinagdaanan ko, medyo lapitin talaga ako ng controversy. Sa dami ng pinagdaanan ko sa buhay, I always, always find a way to come back even stronger. So I think that's the biggest truth that I learned about myself,” Janella shared.
The actress-singer then shared what fans can expect from her music too.
“I am currently working on an album. I've been working on it for a year so medyo matagal na, pero hopefully soon malabas na siya. I've actually already dropped two singles, so ‘Headtone’ and ‘Hey You’ are part of the new album. The vibe is more on, I've always been vocal that I want like, a touch of jazz. Jazz R&B,” she teased.
