Kapamilya actress Kiara Takahashi expressed that she is taking a breather from the showbiz industry as she enters a new era of her life–– becoming a mother. In an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, the former Pinoy Big Brother housemate shared that she already talked with her management, Star Magic, who expressed their full support for her and her growing family.
Kiara announced her pregnancy earlier this week with her partner, Benny Gunter, and is currently based in Japan where she’ll stay for the duration of it.

Prior to making the public announcement, the Kapamilya star shared that she flew back to the Philippines alongside her partner to talk with her bosses about her plans moving forward.
“That’s why we went back to the Philippines three weeks ago because I personally wanted to go to ABS-CBN and tell our bosses, to direk Lauren, I’m about to enter a new chapter of my life and personally wanted to tell them that,” she explained.
Despite taking a pause, Kiara maintained that she still has the passion and love for the entertainment industry and is more than happy to come back when the opportunity shows in the future.
“I talked to my management and they were very supportive, they were happy and I expressed also to the bosses that I would love to still be part of the industry and work still,” she shared.
“My love for singing and acting for TV and theater will always be there, I don’t think that will ever change and I think there’s so much more to improve on. There’s so much more to grow on that aspect when it comes to my passion,” she added.
The One More Chance The Musical actress added how excited she is for this new journey that she’ll be taking on–– something that she knows she’ll learn a lesson from.
“Everything is just on pause and that pause is such a beautiful pause because it’s an amazing experience as a woman. I’m just very excited for the new chapter and when I come back, it will still be me but a grown me. I feel like I can take all of that experience as a mom to my work and share that to other people,” she expressed.
Meanwhile, Benny showed his support for her in whatever decision she makes as he knows as well that she has career goals she wants to meet. Kiara’s partner plays professional Rugby in Japan where he also represents the country.
“In the next couple of years, we’ll bounce back and forth between Philippines and Japan because Kiara’s still got her career goals that we are going to accomplish together as a family,” he shared.
Kiara met Benny through her mom and aunt several years ago and started off as friends but feeling the connection they had for one another, they decided to give their love story a chance. Fast forward to 2025, the couple just celebrated their first anniversary and are now expecting their first child.
