For Jennica Garcia, it’s important that her future partner is “spiritually mature.”
In her recent interview with veteran broadcaster Julius Babao, Jennica spoke about how her standards towards men have evolved when she fully embraced her Christian faith.
“Very clear sa akin 'yung instruction ni Jesus na the man that I am going to be with is someone who is ‘spiritually mature.’ He is someone whose treasures are stored in heaven and not in the world,” she emphasized.
The actress shared that she met two guys who almost checked all the boxes except for one thing: their faith.

“Meron akong na-meet na guy, dalawa sila. ‘Yung isang guy, nagulat ako may-ari ng mga building tapos wala pa rin siyang asawa. He’s in his late 30s,” she said.
“Yung isa, meron siyang dalawang restaurants, sa Forbestown ‘yung isa. Tapos sobrang physically attracted ako sa kanya,” she continued.
Jennica clarified that, although both guys are great, she's looking for someone who possesses a deeper connection with God.
"These men are great," she said. "I will not get to know someone who is mean, who has a bad attitude. It’s just that if I ask them how their relationship with Christ is — ‘Who is God for you?’ — doon pa lang alam ko na. Kasi ‘pag ang isasagot mo sa akin ‘I believe in God, I know there’s a higher power’ — it’s not enough.”
The Saving Grace star firmly believes that God will not send her someone who will be her “assignment.”

“Hindi ako bibigyan ni Lord ng lalaki na assignment kong baguhin or ayusin,” she stated. "The clear vision that I received from the Lord is that this man and me would glorify God together. Parang he is whole in Christ, I am whole in Christ, and together, we get to spread the Gospel and show what it looks like kung anong itsura ng couple who has Jesus in them.”
Jennica pointed out that some men would not understand that she’s not into kissing and fornication, especially with her being a single mother.
“Sa totoo lang, hindi naman talaga kaya ng lalaki 'yan pero kaya ng lalaki na nabubuhay para sa Panginoon,” she asserted.

Although she’s already content with her life now, the actress believes that there is someone destined for her.
“Dumating na ako sa point na sa buhay ko na ‘alam mo Lord kahit wala nang dumating, okay na,” she said. “Pero Siya kasi ang nagsasabi sa akin na meron. Feeling ko dahil may mga anak ako, kasi siyempre love Niya din mga anak ko. Siguro nakikita din niya ‘yung benefits for my kids if they grow up with a father inside a household. Kaya siguro. Pero kasi, kung ako lang, okay na ako.”
In 2021, Jennica and her former partner Alwyn Uytingco parted ways. They are currently co-parenting their two daughters, Athena Mori and Alexis Severina.
