An art card for a religious event featuring Kapamilya actress Jennica Garcia sent the wrong message.
The art card, which was supposedly for the promotion of Grand Sagalahan, an event organized by a chapel in Bocaue, Bulacan for Flores de Mayo, caught the attention of netizens and some celebrities.
From the fonts used, to the floral embellishments, down to the image of the Virgin Mary placed in the upper right corner, the art card appeared like a memorial card for the actress.
“Akala nila sumalangit na ako,” said Jennica in the reaction video she shared on social media on Thursday, May 29.
The Saving Grace star captioned her social media posts: “Salamat sa concern.”
In the video, Jennica admitted that she also thought the same thing about the art card.
“Kung ano ang naiisip niyo, naisip ko na,” she said.
According to her, she was surprised by the reactions of the netizens.
“Nagulat ako na-gets (nila),” she said. “‘Yung reaction ng mga tao sa Facebook ini-expect ko na pero ‘yung sa Instagram at saka sa TikTok, hindi ko ini-expect.”
Despite the badly designed art card, the Saving Grace star appealed to her followers to be nice to the artist who made it.
“Huwag niyo na idamay ang nag-edit,” she said. “Ang nag-edit ay nag-ta-trabaho lang. Huwag na kayong manisi ng ibang tao.”

She also added: "Masaya ako na napasaya ko kayo."
Some of the celebrities who reacted to the art card include Janine Gutierrez, Melai Cantiveros-Francisco, Alora Sasam, Adrian Lindayag, and Lovely Abella-Manalo, among others.
“Babe, bakit ganyan? [Ang] puso ko,” Janine, her Dirty Linen co-star wrote in the comment section.
Melai also commented on the post: “Natakot ako partner baaaaaa. Anu ka ba!”
Meanwhile, Alora shared the same feeling as Melai: “Kinabahan ako dzaii!!”
Jennica will be playing Reyna Emperatriz in the Grand Sagalahan which is set to take place at 7 p.m. today, May 30.
Sagalahan, famously known Santacruzan or Flores de Mayo, is a time-honored tradition in the country that is annually celebrated during the month of May.
