Alex Eala took to social media to reflect on her milestone performance after wrapping up her Women's Tennis Association (WTA) campaign at the 2025 Eastbourne Open final in East Sussex.

"A WTA trophy!🥹 Thank you everyone for the love❤️," she posted on her Instagram page.

Alex Eala concluded her breakthrough run at the Eastbourne Open after being edged out by Maya Joint on Saturday, June 28 (PH time).

"This has to be one of the toughest losses of my early career," she admitted. "But I firmly believe that it’s these moments that make you stronger and shape your character. Though I’m so happy with the positive week, it’s full speed ahead to @wimbledon."

She ended her post with a lighthearted note, saying, "I have a date with Centre Court," referring to her upcoming appearance at Wimbledon.

Alex made history during the tournament by becoming the first Filipino to reach a WTA final.

"To everyone who came to watch, you guys made it really special, my first WTA Finals," she said in an interview after her match with Maya as reported by ABS-CBN News. "It’s a big deal for me and for my country because it’s the first time, that’s why I'm so emotional."

She went on: "I’ll work hard to do more. It’s been a crazy year, so I’ll remember this week and this moment forever."

Back in March, she also broke new ground at the 2025 Miami Open by becoming the first Filipina to advance to a WTA semifinal.

"Wow, this year’s @miamiopen has left me speechless and so full of emotion, mostly pride and gratitude," she posted on her Instagram page following the conclusion of her Miami Open journey.

Representing the Philippines on the global stage, Alex expressed pride in her performance and resilience throughout the tournament.

"I’m proud of myself for pushing through those tough moments, as well as to have been able to make a statement for the Philippines in one of the biggest stages of tennis," she said.

Alex remains grounded, acknowledging that her breakthrough moment is just the beginning of a longer journey.

"I recognize that these two weeks have opened the door to so many opportunities for me, but along with those opportunities come a whole new set of obstacles I will have to navigate through. The real work starts now," she stated.
