It’s a milestone-filled year for Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11 alumna Rain Celmar, who is celebrating a string of achievements: releasing her debut album, selling out her first solo concert, making her acting debut, and graduating from senior high school.
Almost a year after stepping into the iconic yellow house, Rain continues to thrive in the entertainment scene while also reaching a major academic milestone.
In an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, the young Cebuana artist opened up about the struggle of balancing her rising career and education.
“Talagang grabe siya. It was so hard to balance work and studies. I thought about stopping na kasi I cannot (na) it’s so hard but because of the support I got from my parents and my friends, kaya I was like, I’m gonna do it na lang,” she expressed.
Rain added that her deep connection with her alma mater gave her the extra push to finish her studies.
“Sayang (din) kasi na the school po is I was there na since nursery so parang the people there are like my family na so I want to graduate with the people I grew up with. Ayon talaga na pinaghirapan ko siya kaya it’s so fulfilling when I walked the stage tapos nagba-bye tapos nakita ko iyong teachers from my nursery times pa,” she added.
Rain went on: “I can’t believe that it’s gonna be the last time I’ll be seeing them, so parang nagform na iyong tears ko but I’m proud of myself and everyone in the room.”
Despite her hectic schedule, Rain is committed to pursuing higher education.
“I’m planning to continue po studying kasi I’m already here na eh so why not continue. If I can, I will,” she stated.
She also revealed her plan to take up a course in Business Management, a practical move both for her career and her family’s business.
“I’m planning to take business management po. It’s part of my options I had before this thing happened pa kasi my dad has a business in Cebu so parang pwede rin siya in my life so something I thought about and now doing it na,” she explained.
When asked about her graduation gift, Rain said it was something simple but meaningful.
“Siguro the graduation gift was the time I was able to spend with my family and friends. It was nice to see my relatives as well even if it’s a short time pa,” she shared.
In a previous Instagram post, Rain expressed her gratitude to the people who have been part of her academic life.
“I am beyond grateful to my parents, school administrators, and friends for their unwavering support throughout my unexpected journey. Balancing academics with a sudden career in entertainment wasn't easy, to the point that I nearly gave up—but your encouragement and understanding made it possible,” she wrote.
“I couldn't have achieved this milestone without each one of you. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. I love you all 💋.”
As her first year in showbiz approaches, Rain reflected on how fast her life has changed.
“I think talagang life is crazy and it can switch up at any moment in time. I can’t believe na it’s gonna be a year na kaya talaga just be ready for what life gonna bring you kasi it’s unexpected talaga,” she said.
She went on, “Lahat is surprising pa po talaga kasi actually I can’t (believe) na on what month, what day it is kasi it’s so fast like mag one-year na. It’s so crazy na.”
The young artist then expressed her gratitude to fans and supporters who have supported her since day one.
“Actually, di ko po alam na mag-one-year na pala since I entereed the PBB kaya grabe po talaga ang support niyon since PBB and now that I’m releasing an album, nandito pa rin kayo. That just shows so much how you support and love me genuinely. Thank you, guys. I’m genuinely grateful to have you in my life. Thank you po! I love you all!” she expressed.
