It’s an overwhelming yet exciting moment for Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11 third big placer Kolette Madelo as she prepares to hold her first-ever album launch and fan meet-and-greet event, happening this June 1 at the SM North EDSA Sky Dome in Quezon City.
In an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, Kolette shared her excitement about her debut album, SAYAW, and her solo event titled "Call Me… Kolette!"
“Nakakafeel po ako ngayon na overwhelmed [ako] at the same time kasi nga it's my first time to have an album launch and may sayawan at kantahan na magaganap (pa) and meet and greet (para) sa mga fans,” she shared.
Kolette revealed that SAYAW features five tracks spanning different genres, including R&B and ballads, songs that reflect the experiences of youth, love, heartbreak, and sweetness.
“Ang album ko po ay naglalaman ng mga sobrang ganda and memorable na kanta pagdating sa mga kabataan, love life, sad life, or para sa sweet-sweetan. Ang process niya po ay sobrang hirap pero worth it,” she added.
“May isang kanta doon na sobra talaga ng effort na ibinigay namin doon to the point na hapon hanggang madaling araw namin ginawa para matapos yung album,” Kolette recalled.
Aside from her vocal performance, Kolette is also set to surprise fans with a dance production, showcasing her “hidden talent”
“Sa album launch may sayawan, may sexy (dance), at siyempre may tawanan. Maraming aabangan,” she enticed.
Kolette then explained, “Hindi naman na bago sa akin ang sayaw, kumbaga sa akin ang hidden talent ko talaga ay pagsayaw so parang gusto ko ibigay kahit nakita na nila yung side ko na marunong sumayaw. Ito yung side na to the point na ibinigay ko lahat ng energy para sa sayaw na ito.”
Kolette also opened up about her dream collaborations in music and dance. For singing, she hopes to perform with Tawag ng Tanghalan grand winner Lyka Estrella, and for dancing, none other than actress and performer Maja Salvador.
“Ang sa sing po ay, marami kasi ako kanta na ballad so si Ate Lyka po and sa sayaw po si Miss Maja,” she said.
She continued, “Si Miss Maja ay yun po ang pinapangarap ko na sana makasayaw ko siya sa ASAP yung dalawa kami parang 'Twerk It Like Miley' pero sana mapagbigyan akmi na makasama siya sa isang prod.”
Kolette also shared her interest in songwriting, something she began exploring during her time in Pinoy Big Brother.
“Natry ko na po magsulat ng song noong sinulat namin sa Bahay ni Kuya which is ipagpapatuloy naman namin nila Kai (Montinola) and Rain (Celmar),” she recalled.
Although she admits she’s not quite ready to dive fully into songwriting, Kolette said she wants to write songs drawn from her personal experiences.
“Sa pagsulat naman po for now (parang) hindi pa siya talaga (kasi) gusto ko po kapag nagsulat ako 100 percent na into it ako para naman ma-feel ko and siyempre kukuha ako ng lyrics na base sa mga experience ko kasi gusto ko kapag nagsulat ako ng kanta gusto ko experience ko para kapag kantahin ko feel na feel ko at maraming makakarelate,” she elaborated.
Kolette also expressed her intent to incorporate Tagalog and Bisaya lyrics in her future compositions.
“Ako naman po, kasi mas maganda rin naman talaga yung kanta na may iba't ibang language. Siguro gagawin ko siya na Tagalog at Bisaya, may kaunting English pero talagang malaking percent na may Tagalog and English,” she shared.
Meanwhile, Kolette couldn’t hide her gratitude as she spoke about the support she continues to receive from her fans.
“Na-o-overwhelm kasi siyempre sa sobrang dami ng ticket hindi ko akalain na mauubos nila ng ilang weeks at ilang months kasi as in sobrang bilis nila mag-sold out,” she stated.
“Thank you so much sa pagsupport at patuloy na pagsupport sa akin kahit wala na ako sa loob ng Bahay ni Kuya. Sa lahat ng ganap ko, nandyan kayo mapadigital man o physical shows man. Wag niyo kalimutan na lagi ko ibibigay ang best ko to make you all proud,” she continued.
As confirmed by Star Music last May 22, tickets to Kolette’s “Call Me… Kolette!” album launch and fan meet have been officially sold out.
