After marking his 40th year in the industry with his highly successful Just Got Lucky concert last year, Raymond Lauchengco is ready to cap off another colorful year in his career as he celebrates his 60th birthday on stage in the one-night only Everybody Loves Raymond concert along with the official launch of his new book Dance With The Wind.
Last month, Raymond also released his latest single “My Favorite Story” which celebrates all the people who have surrounded him with love throughout his life.
In a previous social media post, Raymond revealed one of the biggest kilig moments in his life before he entered showbiz. The unforgettable encounter happened when his high school organized a soiree with an all-girls school class where Sharon Cuneta, who was also one of the country’s most popular idols during that era, happened to be in.

He wrote, “Here's one 'kilig' story very few people know. How many of you remember soirées—those school gatherings where young men and ladies were supposed to learn how to socialize?
“When I was in third year high school, our class had one with Saint Paul’s, Quezon City. I was neither class president nor the smartest, and I was definitely not the type to take to the dance floor. But that afternoon, my teachers asked me to get things started—and for a special reason, I said yes.
“Why? Because rumor had it that in that Saint Paul’s class was my first-ever showbiz crush. And it turned out to be true. She really was there. I had it bad for this girl—I’d fall asleep listening to her songs on my Walkman every night. And on that fateful afternoon, I got to look into her eyes and dance with her for a few unforgettable minutes.”
Looking back at their moment together on the dance floor, Raymond wrote that although it may seem uneventful to his crush, he will always consider it unforgettable. He added, “I doubt she even remembers this happened—but that’s okay. Because I do. And I always will. I’m tempted to tell you who I’m talking about… but maybe I’ll save that part for the concert on November 28. 😉”
While he didn’t explicitly name Sharon as the showbiz crush in his post, Raymond accompanied it with a black and white photo of himself and the Megastar singing together.

He has also revealed that Sharon is one of the special guests at the Everybody Loves Raymond concert along with Mitch Valdes, Ice Seguerra, and Martin Nievera. In the post announcing Sharon as one his guests, Raymond wrote, “I just got lucky! I just got REALLY lucky! Thank you my dearest Megastar. Love you @reallysharoncuneta”
