MANILA -- Karylle turned emotional on "It's Showtime" on Thursday as she expressed her gratitude to Amy Perez, who is celebrating her birthday.
During the noontime show, Perez received greetings from her fellow hosts including Karylle, her niece. Her father and Karylle's grandmother are siblings.
In her message, Karylle, who went through tough times recently, expressed her appreciation to Perez for being "completely" there for her.
"Maraming salamat. Siyempre siguro hindi alam ng lahat pero ang dami kong pinagdaanan recently, and Tita Amy was completely there for me," she said. "I think sa iyo ako talaga humugot ng lakas."
"Napakahirap. I found my bad news here in 'Showtime' and I knew exactly who to tell kasi hindi ko rin naman gustong sirain 'yung taping kasi kailangan nating magpasaya ng madlang people," she added. "Pero salamat, knowing that you are there for me every day."
Karylle went on: "You really have given us so much love in your very small but many ways. Bawat araw ang dami mong ginagawa para sa amin. Kung mayroong maliit na problema, alam nating may kakatok sa dressing room natin dahil ikaw ang talagang takbuhan namin sa bawat problema."
"I don't even know how na-survive ko itong buwan na ito, but largely because of you. Thank you," she ended, before hugging Perez.
Last month, Karylle's father, Modesto Tatlonghari, passed away.
