After prevailing in a contract dispute with their former management company, K-pop boy group THE BOYZ is set to begin a new chapter, announcing that they will continue as a nine-member group under a new label, South Korean media reported Thursday.

The announcement was made in a joint statement by Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, Q, Sunwoo and Eric, the nine members who will carry on the act's promotions, according to an article by the Korea JoongAng Daily.

The group's activities will reportedly be managed by a newly established label, whose name has yet to be revealed, but the members will also be free to sign with other agencies for their solo activities.

Earlier this year, the members of THE BOYZ, excluding New, sought to terminate their contracts with former agency One Hundred, alleging they had not received settlement payments for activities since 2025. A court later ruled in their favor, granting their request to suspend their exclusive contracts.

Debuting in 2017 under IST Entertainment, THE BOYZ — which originally had 12 members — rose to prominence with the members' striking visuals and songs such as "The Stealer," "Maverick" and "Thrill Ride." The group left IST in late 2024 to join One Hundred.

THE BOYZ gained wider recognition after winning the reality competition series "Road to Kingdom" in 2020 and later competing in its sequel "Kingdom: Legendary War" in 2021.

The ensemble last performed in the country in August 2024 for its "Zeneration II" world tour.
