MANILA (UPDATED) — Akari halted Creamline's five-game winning streak to keep its own run in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference.
The Chargers defeated the 10-time champions in four sets, 25-21, 26-24, 17-25, 25-21, to stretch their winning run to four on Thursday at the Filoil Centre in San Juan.
The troika of Ivy Lacsina, Eli Soyud, and Grethcel Soltones paved the way in the offensive side for the win that made them rise to solo fourth in the rankings.

Lacsina had 20 points on 18 attacks, one block, and one ace while delivering 17 excellent receptions. Soyud had 15 points, as Soltones chipped in 14 markers, while Justine Jazareno did what she does best, defending the Akari floor with 22 excellent digs on 59 percent efficiency.
Mars Alba pulled the strings with 18 excellent sets, and did her part in the defense with 10 excellent digs.
"Sa akin po, hindi ko po siya tine-take na ako lang po ‘yung nagpi-peak. ‘Yung buong team ko kasi talagang teamwork ‘yung ginagawa namin every day," said Lacsina during the postgame interview, crediting her team.

After Lacsina put Akari to match point with a checkball hit, 24-18, the Cool Smashers still managed to keep themselves into the game, thanks to Jema Galanza's hits.
However, rookie Chen Tagaod was there to close the match in their favor with a kill off the blockers' hands, 25-21, concluding the match at two hours and 14 minutes.
"Very grateful ako sa lahat, sa coaches, sa teammates ko, sa management kasi wino-work on talaga lahat ng aspects na pwedeng gawin at ma-improve ‘yung team," added Alba, who enabled her spikers tonight.
On the other hand, Galanza was Creamline's bright spot, who delivered 16 points and seven excellent receptions in the loss. Tots Carlos also breached twin-digit scoring with 10 markers, as Creamline fell to 5-2 win-loss slate.
