MANILA — PLDT swept Galeries, 25-18, 25-22, 25-17, for its sixth win in seven matches in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday at the Filoil Centre in San Juan.
The win puts the High Speed Hitters into a better position of securing a spot in the qualifying round, moving to a victory away from the berth.
"Before the game ang reminders lang, ibigay ‘yung respect sa Galeries kasi lalo nga’t this conference, very capable na ‘yung lineup," said tactician Rald Ricafort during the postgame interview.
"Nakita rin naman ‘yung mga upsets nila sa mga ibang teams, so naging game talaga siya about sa discipline na gusto namin i-impose and hindi kailangan maglaro ng extra special, kung ano lang talaga ‘yung sistema namin."
The Ricafort-coached squad went on a 16-6 finishing kick in the last frame, sealing the win in just one hour and 21 minutes.
PLDT was up on all three scoring aspects, from attacks, 43-37; blocks, 9-4; and service aces, 6-1.
