MANILA (UPDATED) – Creamline extended its winning streak to five matches by outlasting a gritty Nxled side, 25-16, 22-25, 25-21, 15-25, 15-10, in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference on Saturday at the Filoil Centre in San Juan.
The Cool Smashers had to survive a tough challenge by the Chameleons, who are composed of the core of the defending All-Filipino champions, to secure a 5-1 win-loss card and deal the latter's fourth straight loss.
It was an all-around effort for the Cool Smashers in the final frame, although it was Jema Galanza who stood out the most, firing four attacks late in the game, coupled by Nxled errors to propel their side to match point at 14-10.
And then Bernadeth Pons was there to seal their victory – an off-the-block hit the Chameleons could not answer.
Galanza acknowledged the championship caliber of Nxled, saying that there would be no easy points against the Brooke Van Sickle-captained squad.

"Sinumulan lang namin ng magandang serve. And then, tiniyaga rin talaga namin. Hindi kami nag-e-expect ng mahina, or bibigay lang sa amin agad ng kabila 'yung points," the Adamson product said. "Kami talaga, gusto namin 'yung point na 'to, kami yung gagawa ng paraan. Kaya, nag-work siya kasi hindi lang isa, lahat talaga nagbigay ng points."
With her late-game heroics, she earned Player of the Game honors, completing a 19-point performance anchored on 18 attacks and one ace, to go along with 10 excellent receptions and six excellent digs.

"Ako, ang daming feelings," said Galanza regarding their faceoff against the core of Petro Gazz. "Excited na may kaba, na nacha-challenge. Kasi maganda silang kalaban. Sobrang ganda nila kalaban – 'yung kailangan mo mag-isip, hindi ka lang basta papalo."
Pons (18 points, 13 digs), Tots Carlos (16 points, 13 digs), and Pangs Panaga (13 points, six blocks) were there as supporting cast with double-digit scoring outputs of their own.
Enabling them was Jia de Guzman, who registered 28 excellent sets and two points.
Meanwhile, Van Sickle had a game-high output of 28 points on 24 attacks, three blocks, and one ace, while Myla Pablo delivered seven swats en route to a 22-point night, but were down the drain as the Chameleons kept skidding in the all-Pinoy tournament.
