MANILA (UPDATED) — It is finally PLDT's time to reach the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) mountaintop.
The High Speed Hitters rose past Chery Tiggo, 25-17, 25-17, 19-25, 24-26 15-8, to clinch the 2025 PVL on Tour title on Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
It was an unbeaten run for the Rald Ricafort-coached squad, previously securing a 5-0 win-loss slate in the group phase and also defeating Zus Coffee and Creamline in the playoffs.
This marked PLDT's best finish in a PVL conference, cracking the championship stage for the first time.
But it came in the hard way as the High Speed Hitters squandered a 2-0 lead after let-ups in Sets 3 and 4.

They reconnected just in time in the fifth set, unleashing a 10-2 rally from the 4-3 count, capped by a Mika Reyes block to reach championship point, 14-5.
The Crossovers saved three match points, but the eventual champions finally came through as Kim Kianna Dy blocked Cess Robles on the net, closing out the winner-take-all match after two hours and 34 minutes.

Fil-Canadian Savi Davison, the usual suspect for PLDT, fired a game-high 23 points which all came from attacks to go with nine excellent receptions, while Reyes complemented that output with Finals MVP-clinching 20 points, including a record seven blocks.
"Happy at nakaka-proud na hanggang sa last set, ipinakita ng girls 'yung gusto naming mangyari na tumibay saka tumapang. Very proud na naka-perform. Si Mika grabe 'yung nilaro kanina. Si Sav, the usual," expressed coach Rald Ricafort during the championship presser.
Dy and Majoy Baron contributed 13 markers each, eventual Best Libero and PLDT captain Kath Arado held the fort in the defense with 29 excellent digs and 13 excellent receptions, while Kim Fajardo orchestrated that title-winning offense with 25 excellent sets.
Meanwhile, it was also the Crossovers' return to a PVL final since entering this round during the Bacarra bubble in the 2021 Open Conference.
They came up short, but it was still a proud moment for the Chery Tiggo side, paced by Ara Galang who notched 22 points and eight excellent digs in her first PVL final, while Robles delivered 12 points and eight excellent digs.
