MANILA -- The Cignal HD Spikers made it two wins in a row on Monday after sweeping Capital1 in the PVL on Tour at the Chavit Coliseum in Vigan, Ilocos Sur.
Gel Cayuna pulled the strings in the HD Spikers' 25-21, 25-22, 25-16 victory against the Solar Spikers to stay unbeaten in the preseason tournament.
The HD Spikers displayed their veteran poise in the first and second sets, before riding that momentum to cruise to victory in the third frame.
After a strong debut on Sunday against Akari, Erika Santos again showed that she is a good fit for Cignal with 11 points on eight kills and three blocks. Roselyn Doria was their other double-digit scorer, putting up 10 points.
Cayuna was credited with 27 excellent sets to earn Player of the Game honors.
"Naglaro lang talaga kami ng masaya and nag-contribute naman lahat kaya happy ako para sa mga teammates ko," said Cayuna afterward. "Looking forward pa sa mga magiging adjustments namin sa next games."
The Solar Spikers dropped to 0-2 in the PVL on Tour after also bowing to Creamline on Sunday. They were led by Rovena Instrella's 11 points in the defeat.
Capital1 is back on the road on July 5 at the Ynares Center in Montalban, where they will take on the Chery Tiggo Crossovers.
