MANILA – Capital1 is entering a new era.
The Solar Spikers will now have Alas Pilipinas head coach Jorge de Brito as their new mentor, replacing the multi-titled tactician Roger Gorayeb, the team announced Monday in a social media post.
This was the first time Capital1 has changed a new coach since its foundation in 2024. The change comes just days before the 2025 PVL Rookie Draft, where the Solar Spikers have the No. 1 overall pick.

In the highly likely scenario that Capital1 drafts Bella Belen, it will be De Brito who will be mentoring the three-time UAAP champion and MVP.
De Brito has already handled a team in the PVL. He was with Akari from 2022-2023 before he was replaced with then-interim coach Raffy Mosuela.
Meanwhile, Gorayeb will transition as team consultant, ensuring that his services would continue for the young franchise.
