MANILA – Capital1 has secured the top pick of the upcoming 2025 Premier Volleyball League Rookie Draft.
The team was selected first in the PVL lottery held at the TV5 Media Center in Mandaluyong City on Monday, followed by Galeries, Farm Fresh, and Nxled.
With a thirty percent chance, the Solar Spikers were lucky enough to be chosen first, drawn by former PVL MVP Michele Gumabao.
"Of course, I’m so honored to be part of this draft. For us, this would help us improve. This is our second year and our second season. My sister (Mandy) and I are very happy because this gives new teams to equalize and get better along with the other teams," said Capital1 owner Milka Romero after the welcome development.
Perhaps the most unlucky team tonight was Nxled, which landed at the fourth spot, despite having the highest odds of getting the first pick at 40 percent.
They weren't chosen in the three draws, settling for the last slot in the lottery.

National University superstar Bella Belen appears to be the consensus number one pick, but the three-time UAAP MVP is still weighing her options despite applying for the Draft.
Among those who filed for the draft, as confirmed later on by the league, were Belen's teammates in NU Sheena Toring and Erin Pangilinan, Ateneo captain Lyann de Guzman and fellow Blue Eagle AC Miner, and Far Eastern University's Jean Asis and Chen Tagaod.
University of the Philippines' Nica Celis will also try her luck in the upcoming league exercise.
The PVL combine for the aspirants is scheduled for May 30-31 at the Paco Arena, while the Draft proper is on June 8.
