This, as the Thunderbelles outworked Akari in reverse sweep fashion, 23-25, 22-25, 25-23, 25-12, 15-7, on Tuesday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Recent PVL Press Corps Player of the Week Anna DeBeer continued her stellar showing for the Thunderbelles, firing 33 points to lead all scorers, built on 32 attacks and one block, to go with 12 excellent receptions and eight excellent digs.

Today's game date is a replay of the opening matches after the reinforcements weren't able to play last October 7 due to a standoff between the PVL and the PNVF on import clearances.

"I mean, definitely it was hard sitting out in the first one, so just to be able to play and have such a cool environment here was really fun," DeBeer shared during the postgame press conference.

Riding on the momentum after winning Sets 3 and 4, the Thunderbelles showed determination to close out the match, going on a dominant 9-2 run that dictated the decider. DeBeer and middle blockers Riza Nogales and AC Miner paved the way for that massive run, unleashing the much-needed kills and blocks while pouncing on Akari errors.

Chinnie Arroyo joined the party by scoring Zus Coffee's last two of four points anchored on kills, as Jovelyn Gonzaga secured the game-winning hit by finding the spot on the other side of the court.

"Adjust adjust lang, execute lang tayo ng mga basic plays so ayun, nakuha," said the quiet but fiery Zus Coffee coach Jerry Yee.

Nogales and Gonzaga finished with 11 points each, while Arroyo also breached twin-digit scoring with 10.

Steering that comeback was playmaker Clo Mondonedo, who listed 27 excellent sets, while Gonzaga also guarded the floor with 13 excellent digs and 13 excellent receptions.

On the other hand, the Chargers have secured the point they needed to be in the Top 3 of Pool B after winning the first two sets.

Despite having the same record as Petro Gazz at 3-2, they edged out the 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference champions via points, as Akari finished with nine; Petro Gazz, 8 points.

Import Annie Mitchem wrapped up with 27 points and 17 excellent receptions, but was down the drain as they collapsed in the last frames.
