MANILA (UPDATED) — All-Filipino Cignal bucked the absence of a reinforcement to stun sister team PLDT, 25-17, 25-22, 25-21, in the 2025 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference on Tuesday at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
Despite missing the services of an import, after the Super Spikers released Greek spiker Eva Chantava, the Shaq delos Santos-coached squad tallied their breakthrough win, ending a two-game skid—and halting the hottest squad's 15-game winning run.
“Nakakatuwa kasi bumalik ulit ‘yung laro nila na I’m sure matagal na rin nilang nami-miss, especially against PLDT pa. So sobrang nakaka-proud and happy talaga,” said Delos Santos after the game.

On Tour MVP Erika Santos shone during the endgame, firing four straight points to silence Anastasiia Bavykina, who previously propelled Capital1 to a narrow 20-19 lead with back-to-back points.
Savi Davison tried to regain control with a checkball hit, 23-21, but Tin Tiamzon and Heather Guino-o were there for the close out — on an off-the-block kill and a game-clinching service ace — to finally mark their first win.

Santos delivered 17 attack points, while young gun Ishie Lalongisip provided 15 points 11 receptions and eight digs.
"Grateful lang din ako kasi 'yun, nakukuha na namin 'yung groove ng team. Nagko-connect naman, tapos hindi naging hadlang 'yung mga losses namin para makuha namin yung mood namin sa today's game," said Santos, who was also an ex-Cignal player.
Davison, as usual, was present for PLDT, but this time it was for the losing cause with 14 points, nine receptions, and seven digs.
Cignal aims to retain its winning ways as it faces Nxled on Saturday, while PLDT seeks to shrug off the disappointing loss and win against undefeated Farm Fresh.
