ANTIPOLO – Getting their first win in the PBA 50 Governors' Cup was personal for Titan Ultra Giant Risers import Tirrell Brown.
The Giant Risers got their first win at the expense of the shorthanded TNT Tropang 5G, 103-87, at the Ynares Center in Antipolo on Wednesday.
In his second game for Titan Ultra, Brown rose to the occasion with another double-double of 29 points and 10 rebounds to lift his team to its breakthrough victory.

The victory is Titan Ultra's biggest win margin after three conferences in the PBA, as well as its first time to defeat the defending champions.
For Brown, the win is a big boost to his confidence in his first conference in the PBA.
"It was very important for this win for me personally, just to prove to everybody that I belong here or whatever. And also for the team, you know, they were looking for their first win and I'm happy that I could help get them the first win. And I feel good," he said at the post-game press conference.
Before the season-ending conference, Titan Ultra revealed Brown as its reinforcement. However, the 32-year-old big man did not suit up due to several circumstances.
"Before he came here, there was an incident na kumbaga nasunog. There was a fire in their house in their country. So their house caught fire. So that's why he came here late. Kumbaga ang dami nilang inasikaso," Titan head coach Rensy Bajar said.
"Plus, same thing, his clearance in his previous team, na hindi rin agad nabigay yung clearance. So then on our first game against NLEX, he just got his GAB [Games and Amusements Board] license. So medyo hindi siya naka-practice sa amin," he explained.
Despite all that he went through, Brown is grateful to still be able to suit up for the Giant Risers.
"It was a little difficult just starting out, but the team, they welcomed me very well. And the coach, he helped me catch up fast with the team, with the plays and everything. So at this point, I feel good. I feel like we got a good chemistry and we're ready to keep going," he said.
Titan Ultra looks to carry the momentum against the Macau Giant Pandas, on Saturday in the same venue.
