MANILA -- Converge survived a late rally by Terrafirma, 105-103, for a second straight win in the PBA Season 50 Governors' Cup, Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum.
The FiberXers had a 103-93 lead with 10 minutes left before the Dyip uncorked a 10-2 run, capped by a Juami Tiongson triple with still over a minute left.
Both teams struggled to convert in the final seconds, however, and Converge escaped with the win when Maverick Ahanmisi's four-point attempt hit the rim as the buzzer sounded.
Justin Arana lifted Converge to the victory with a 31-point, 10-rebound effort, making 14 of his 19 shots in a 34-minute stint.
Juan Gomez de Liano added 19 points, while Justine Blatazar added a 16-point, 14-rebound double-double.
Their combined effort allowed Converge to secure the win despite a paltry two-point output from their import, Jalen Hudson, who made just one of 14 attempts in the game.
Terrafirma import Justin Strings had 40 points and 11 rebounds, while Tiongson finished with 17 points in the loss.
The Dyip fell to 1-1 in the conference.
