MANILA -- A version of Anthony Edwards' latest shoe, the Anthony Edwards 2, celebrates Filipinos' love for basketball.
The "Magpakitang Gilas" is designed by Filipino designer Melvin Rodas and is exclusive to the Philippines.
"I wanted the design to reflect what basketball means to Filipinos: pride, teamwork, and bayanihan. The idea was to create something built by many and worn with pride—and something that carries the spirit of the Philippines in every detail," Rodas said of his design.
The shoe features the colors of the Philippine flag -- with a gradient of blue hues across the upper, a vibrant red sockliner, and accents of lime yellow in the stitching across the tongue and the upper.
The inner tongues feature split messaging: "Magpakitang Gilas" on the left, and "Shine for the Squad" on the right.

The lace tips, meanwhile, feature "Pilipinas" and "Basketball" callouts.
The shoe was developed under adidas Philippines' partnership with the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, as the brand serves as the official outfitter of Gilas Pilipinas.
"Magpakitang Gilas" is available starting June 26 at adidas.com.ph and select adidas stores.
