MANILA -- Kevin Alas spearheaded NLEX's breakaway in the fourth quarter as the Road Warriors grabbed a 120-102 win over Phoenix on Easter Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum.
Alas scored 16 of his 18 points in the final period to help the Road Warriors turn a tight game into a blowout.
They had led only by seven points, 79-72, after the third period but torched the Fuel Masters for 40 points in the fourth frame to cruise to victory.
Import Cady Lalanne had 29 points and 10 rebounds, while Robert Bolick added 22 points and 14 assists for the Road Warriors, who have now won back-to-back games.
They improved to 4-1, while sending Phoenix to 3-2.
The Fuel Masters had climbed within ten points, 96-86, with nearly six minutes left off a bucket by James Dickey III, but Alas buried a triple in NLEX's next possession and Phoenix couldn't mount another fightback.
Ricci Rivero led Phoenix with 20 points while Dickey had 13 points and 14 rebounds, going 5-of-14 from the field.
