MANILA -- Phoenix Super LPG made it two wins in a row to start the PBA Season 50 Commissioners Cup as they pulled away for a 109-76 rout of Titan Ultra on Sunday at the Ynares Center in Montalban.
The Giant Risers were within nine points, 73-64, after the third period before The Fuel Masters blew the game open.
Phoenix out-scored Titan Ultra 36-12 in the pivotal fourth frame to cruise their second straight victory and tie Terrafirma at the top of the league standings.
Ricci Rivero led Phoenix with 18 points, nine rebounds and four assists, while import James Dickey and Ken Tuffin each had 17 markers.
Phoenix limited the Giant Risers to just 35.5% shooting from the field, including a woeful 17.4% clip from three-point range.
Titan Ultra fell to 0-2 despite a 27-point, 20-rebound outing from import Michael Gilmore, who was also responsible for 10 of their 27 turnovers.
