More Filipina athletes will compete in a World Cup next year -- and this time, local fans can watch them at home.
The Philippine Women's National Futsal Team will take part in the FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup as Philippines was tapped as the host of the tournament.
But more than the virtue of hosting, Philippine Football Federation (PFF) John Gutierrez believes that Filipinos "have the talent" to compete on the futsal international stage.
"We became host because we have the capacity to host and we have futsal. It's not because we are the richest country... but because we have the talent also," said Gutierrez.
