MANILA — Two low pressure areas in Northern Luzon and the southwest monsoon or Habagat will bring rains over much of Luzon and Western Visayas on Tuesday, according to PAGASA.
Heavy to intense rainfall is expected in Zambales and Bataan today.
On the other hand, moderate to heavy rains may persist through Thursday in the following areas:

Flooding is likely in urban and low-lying areas and those along river channels while rain-induced landslides are possible in highly susceptible mountainous terrains.
UNLIKELY TO FORM INTO STORMS
At 3 a.m., the remnant LPA of Tropical Depression Luis was in the vicinity of Baggao, Cagayan.
It may move over water and eventually merge with the circulation of Typhoon Dolphin.
Meanwhile, the other LPA was over the coastal waters of Balaoan, La Union. It may persist through Wednesday before dissipating.
Outside the Philippine area of responsibility, Typhoon Dolphin was located more than 2,300 kilometers east northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon.
It has maximum sustained winds of 150 kilometers per hours with gustiness up to 185 kph and is moving westward at 25 kph.
The typhoon is less likely to enter the PAR but may enhance the southwest monsoon or Habagat as it heads towards eastern China, where it may make landfall by weekend.
Habagat may continue to affect the western section of Luzon through next week.
Mindanao and the rest of Luzon and Visayas may experience generally warm and humid weather, with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.
LUIS IMPACT
Meanwhile, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Luis had affected 7,701 families or 9,381 individuals, particularly in Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, the Bicol Region, and the Zamboanga Peninsula.
In its 6 a.m. situation report, the NDRRMC said at least 1,212 families, or 3,682 individuals, had been displaced and were staying in evacuation centers.
A total of 18 areas were reported flooded in the Ilocos Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region.
The NDRRMC also said 398 barangays in Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), and Mimaropa have been identified as susceptible to rain-induced landslides and flooding.
The government has so far provided some P1.2 million in assistance to affected families.
The NDRRMC said data on casualties and the extent of damage remain under validation.
