MANILA (UPDATED) — Former Vice President Leni Robredo has taken a huge lead in the mayoral race in Naga City.
Based on the partial and unofficial results as of 9:46 p.m. on Monday, Robredo already has 80,963 votes from 80% of election returns.
She is far ahead of her rivals, Toots De Quiros (6,084), Louie Ortega (844) and Ganda Abrazado (718).
Robredo had promised to strengthen mechanisms to achieve good and transparent governance in Naga City.

Her late husband Jesse Robredo was the city's long-time mayor as well.
Robredo is also known and championed by her supporters because of her Angat Buhay foundation which has chapters all over the country and in US.

"Thank you very much, my fellow Nagueños, for the big win -84,259 votes equivalent to 91.6% of those who voted. Thank you also for your support to An Bagong Team Naga!!" Robredo said in a statement on Facebook early Tuesday.
"Dios Mabalos man for making Bam Aquino and Kiko Pangilinan our Top 2 Senators in Naga and for making ML Partylist No. 1 in our city!!!" she added. " We are still in euphoric disbelief of Bam and Kiko’s come-from-behind win. All our sacrifices and gambles paid off!!! Thank you to the Filipino peopleπππ Buhay na buhay ang pag asaπ"
