MANILA — The number of individuals nationwide who registered for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) has already reached nearly 900,000 in the past 4 days, the Commission on Elections said Tuesday.
Data released by the Comelec showed 888,042 individuals across the Philippines have so far registered since it opened last Friday, August 1.
The Comelec aims to register one million individuals within its 10-day period.
Central Luzon led the regions that have the most number of registrants in the past 4 days, with 208,398. This was followed by Calabarzon (102,235) and Metro Manila (64,131) based on Comelec data.
Comelec Chairman George Garcia told the media that this was so far "the most in number in the shortest period."

Voter registration is available at schools, transport terminals, and even some hospitals, the Comelec said.
Should President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sign the measure postponing BSKE this year, the poll chief said they would resume the voter registration by October and would end it by July 2026.
