RTVM ScreengrabMANILA — House Majority Leader Sandro Marcos on Monday said that his father’s fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA) will be “in touch with the realities we live in right now.”

The speech will be “an hour and 20 minutes long,” the younger Marcos said.

“I don’t like saying what’s in it, kasi ayaw ko naman unahan ang ating Pangulo,” he said.

“It’s a speech that is in touch with the realities we live it right now. I don’t know how to phrase it without giving too much away so let’s just wait what he has to say,” he said.

Asked if the public should express another surprise announcement similar to the total ban on Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations that punctuated the speech in 2024, Rep. Marcos said: “I don’t know.”

Among the issues in the backdrop of this year’s SONA is the online gambling problem in the Philippines, flooding issues in metropolitan and rural areas, and the impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte.
