MANILA (UPDATED) — The organizer of the Trillion Peso March on Sunday said they would not support calls for military junta for the November 30 protest, as they urged the public to respect the Constitution.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Kiko Dee said that while they support freedom of speech, they would not entertain calls for the destablization of government.
"Yung bawal ay yung kahit anong panawagan sa militar na makialam sa mga question tungkol sa succession o panawagan na regolutionary government, o military junta," Dee said.
"Ang nasa ating Saligang Batas na dapat civilian authority is always above the military. Kung mayroon ganoon kayong panawagan, yun ay pinagbabawal," he added.
Dee said aside from accountability and jailing those behind the anomalous flood control projects, they want the administration to push for measures that would make government processes more transparent.
Political dynasties, he said, must also be stopped, as they only protect each other.
"Ayaw natin na puro dilis lang ang kinukulong, pero yung malalaking isda. Yung liderato ng House of Representatives at [Senate] dapat humarap sa mga kaso," he said.
The Constitution, he emphasized, must be respected and the public should not let any military intervention.
"Kontra tayo sa lahat ng mga hindi sang ayon sa ating Konstitusyon tulad ng interference ng military sa civilian affairs," he said.

For his part, Cardinal Pablo Virgilio David said a military junta does not have a place in a democratic society.
"Ayaw natin sa mga panukalang transitional council o revolutionary government dahil ayaw nating maging banana republic ang Pilipinas. Ayaw din natin ng civilian at military junta kahit pangakuan pa kami na mga obispo ng pwesto sa gobyerno," David said during his speech.
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) last week denied the existence of a military junta within its ranks.
This, after Sen. Panfilo "Ping" Lacson said that he had been approached to join a "civil-military junta" aiming to remove President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte from office.
