MANILA — South Korean fried chicken chain BHC Chicken has opened its first restaurant in the Philippines at SM North EDSA, marking the brand's official entry into the local market through a partnership with Dining Brands Group, Suyen Corporation and B.V. Cuisine Inc.
The flagship store, located on the Upper Ground Floor of SM North EDSA's City Center, serves BHC Chicken's signature Korean fried chicken offerings, including Bburinkle, Matcho King and Hot Bburinkle.
The Philippine debut follows the signing of a master franchise agreement last year.
"Our partnership with Dining Brands Group reflects a shared commitment to bringing authentic Korean flavors to Filipino consumers while creating meaningful dining experiences that go beyond food," Bryan Lim, Suyen Corporation's vice president for business development, said during the store's opening.

Founded in 1997 as Byeol Hana Chicken, BHC Chicken operates about 2,230 stores in South Korea. The company said it has expanded internationally since opening its first overseas branch in Hong Kong in 2018, followed by locations in the United States and franchise agreements in Taiwan, Indonesia and the Philippines.
BHC Chicken's arrival comes as Korean cuisine continues to gain popularity among Filipino consumers, with Korean fried chicken becoming one of the country's fastest-growing casual dining segments.
