International travel remains high on the agenda for many Filipinos as they balance their go-to holiday spots with new destinations, according to a booking site.
Citing booking data from the first half of 2026, Trip.com observed that cosmopolitan hubs continue to dominate outbound travel.
It said that Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Bangkok, and Taipei lead international bookings among Filipino travelers on the platform.

According to Trip.com, the preference of Filipinos for short-haul international trips is highly driven by affordability, accessibility, and convenience.
Their planned activities also influence their chosen destinations. Hong Kong Disneyland remains the top international attraction among Trip.com users for the first half of the year, followed by Ocean Park Hong Kong, Universal Studios Singapore, and Universal Studios Japan.

Trip.com noted, however, that there is also a growing appetite for emerging destinations.
This was seen in higher bookings in Palau (+663%), Oman (+482%), Saudi Arabia (+145%), Vietnam (+122%), Australia (+80%), and Canada (+67%).
Many Filipinos are also going beyond gateway cities, as evident in a 483% year-on-year increase in bookings to Da Nang, and 145% in Hanoi.
