For his Fall/Winter 2025 collection, Chris Nick dives into the chilling world of American Psycho, blending high fashion with the darkly satirical atmosphere of Bret Easton Ellis’ novel and its cinematic adaptation. The collection explores themes of vanity, excessiveness, and the chilling duality of appearance versus reality. Chris’ muse for the collection is none other than Max Collins, one of his stylish industry friends.
Dressed in oversized lapels, sharp, exaggerated silhouettes, and broad shoulders, the Filipina actress and model embodied the unsettling psyche of Patrick Bateman in luxurious suits.
The designer's F/W 2025 collection tells the story of how Patrick Bateman would be in female form. “I have here Max dressed in quite literally a man’s wardrobe. Everything is almost exclusively cut for the male figure, in fact they’re my measurements. Perhaps that’s where the vanity kicks in,” says Chris.
He tells Metro that this might just be his most personal collection to date. "I was eleven when I first saw the film. I even snuck out to buy the novel—which is something I know by heart. I even have the typewrite of the script. Christian Bale’s portrayal of Patrick Bateman captivated me—from the way he dressed, his vanity, his aggressiveness, to his eye for perfection and beautiful things,” says Chris.
Chris Nick not only pays homage to American Psycho but reimagines it through the lens of contemporary fashion, offering a deeply psychological exploration of power, control, and the darkness that lurks beneath the polished exterior of luxury.
