Maris Racal is definitely going places. Just today, Maris is in Berlin, Germany at the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) to represent her movie “Sunshine.” On the prestigious event’s red carpet, Maris is seen wearing a seemingly familiar accent on her look: our humble sampaguita flower.

To know more about this symbolic piece, we spoke to Adrianne Concepcion, the stylist behind this look. According to Adrianne, the piece is from Filipino designer Jot Losa who recently held a runway show for the collection “Pangako.”

The dress, dubbed as No22 look from the collection, is made from a lime green chiffon, accentuated with handmade silk flowers, in which Jot Losa turned into a garlan, graciously surrounding the neck. As for Adrianne, this is “Maris’s fashionable way of greeting “Mabuhay” on the global stage.”

The accessories are kept simple: just a white handbag and a pair of hoop earrings, enough to make a standout statement on the opening red carpet of the 75th Berlinale.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News prior to her departure, Maris shares that she will “be present. Be a sponge there, absorbing everything. I know this will open a lot of new perspective for me, and hopefully a lot of doors too."
The movie Sunshine follows the journey of a young athlete who discovers she is with child the very week of her national team tryouts. As she was considering abortion, she mysteriously meets a girl who resembles herself.
