Blood vs Duty” stays on track to astound viewers with spine-chilling twists, heartbreaking storylines, and spectacular action sequences. Outside of the rigorous responsibilities of the characters, there remains a good chance for love to blossom over time, especially between Agent Marcus Reyes (Richard Gutierrez) and Jamilah Abubakar (Barbie Imperial).

Gathering more details related to Task Force Alpha’s Marcus, in order to assist her brother Jalil (Gerald Anderson) with his undercover mission, Jamilah chose to work as a nurse at S. Trinidad Hospital with Teresa (Susan Africa), Marcus’ mother.

During each of their interactions, Jamilah eventually becomes aware of the truth concerning Marcus and Teresa’s compassionate hearts, causing her to also begin noticing her close connection with Marcus.

Jamilah returns Marcus’ long-cherished item

In aftermath of the horrifying school shooting that took place at East Valley Montessori, where Marcus was accidentally shot in the arm by the troubled young student Gab (Lance Lucido), he promptly received medical care at S. Trinidad Hospital.

Inside, as Jamilah was preoccupied with preparing Marcus for the emergency procedure, he gazed softly at her. Moments later, the patched-up Marcus began to urgently search for the toy car he cherished throughout his life, which belonged to his long-departed brother, Gabriel.

When she saw Marcus’ distressed state, Jamilah remembered that she was carrying the item for a little while and quickly handed it over to Marcus.

Jamilah admires Marcus’ love for his departed sibling

On the day of Marcus being discharged from the hospital, he initially looked for Jamilah to express his gratitude. The two then have another conversation, with Jamilah curiously mentioning Marcus’ treasured toy car.

Marcus tenderly clarified that the toy was owned by his late brother Gabriel, and Jamilah observed the sentimental way Marcus talked about his younger sibling, especially with their memories of having a playful brotherhood.

Similarly, Jamilah also recalled her older brother, Jalil, who was similar to Marcus in the manner of showing unconditional love toward their siblings.

Marcus gets mesmerized by Jamilah’s fighting skills

Just as Jamilah, Gracia (Kolette Madelo), and Peter (Tamerlane Mopia) were heading to Teresa’s dinner gathering, Felix’s (Baron Geisler) disguised accomplices arrived in an attempt to kidnap Jamilah.

A little later, Marcus finally showed up to pick up the trio as requested by his mother. Understanding the dire circumstance, Marcus easily dominated the aggressors, alongside Jamilah, who took everyone by surprise with her fearless and unforgiving combat skills.

As soon as the pair defeated Felix’s goons, Marcus smiled happily at Jamilah, praising and admiring her breathtaking fighting prowess.

Marcus sincerely apologizes to Jamilah and Jalil

At the end of the eventful dinner, Marcus reached out to Jamilah, wanting to speak about her brother Jalil.

While Jamilah continued to cover up her brother’s double identity as Major Allan, who was actually there with them, Marcus primarily declared his genuine intent to make amends with Jalil, particularly for the deadly battles they had.

Marcus further stressed that he now fully understood Jalil’s actions in rescuing his father, Datu Rahman (Jaime Fabregas), and also apologized to Jamilah, who assured him that Jalil was sure to be informed of the matter.

Marcus provides a way to protect Jamilah

Before returning home to Barangay Surga, Jamilah shared with Marcus how she managed to defend herself earlier, pointing out that she often believes that she shouldn’t be influenced by feelings of fear, which might put her in greater danger.

Marcus concurred with her and suggested extra safety precautions and tips for survival. Afterwards, he offered to drive her to her workplace as well as to her home for her safety.

In response, Jamilah worried about causing trouble for Marcus, eventually convincing him that she’ll have Omar (Edgar Mortz) to take care of her and her skills in self-defense.

Will Marcus’ and Jamilah’s shared bond grow stronger? Find out in “Blood vs Duty,” streaming on iWant and airing weeknights at 8:45 pm on ABS-CBN sa ALLTV2, A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, and Kapamilya Online Live (KOL).
