It was finally Kapamilya singer-songwriter Diego Gutierrez’s turn to take on the thrilling game of “Kapamilya, Deal Or No Deal” after the Lucky Wheel selected his assigned briefcase number during the game show’s July 5 episode.
Having never ended up with the ₱1 million jackpot in his briefcase before, Diego relied solely on his intuition with every decision he made throughout the game. The celebrity player initially considered choosing briefcase number 8, as it was his jersey number when he served as team captain of University of Asia And The Pacific basketball team during his college years. However, his assigned briefcase—number 12—also held a special place in his heart, prompting him to stick with it until the end.
After eliminating the ₱10,000 amount, Diego was left with just the ₱1 and ₱500 cash prizes on the board, prompting the Banker to make a final offer of ₱350. Hoping to walk away with the higher cash prize, the musician bravely rejected the offer and stayed loyal to his chosen briefcase.
Diego was later met with disappointment when it was revealed that he had become the game show’s newest “Pisonaryo” after winning just ₱1 from the briefcase he selected. Despite the outcome, Diego remained in high spirits and expressed his heartfelt gratitude, saying, “Honestly, I’m so happy. Like I said, I came in with no expectations. Sobrang nag-enjoy lang ako to be part of the Lucky Stars.”
