After the driver was killed by the hooligans, Gabo (Coco Martin) successfully took control of the bus and brought it to a halt before it could crash into the vehicle driven by Sam (Julia Montes), which was directly several inches away from it.
With Sam pointing her gun at him and ordering him to alight, Gabo complies with her order to step off the bus. She accuses him of being one of the robbers who had attacked the passengers and attempted to steal their belongings. However, Gabo insists that he is not one of them, arguing that he had actually saved her life.
As Gabo begins walking away despite Sam's warning not to move, one of the robbers—who turns out to be a former associate from the criminal syndicate Gabo was involved with before his imprisonment—suddenly shoots him in the chest. In response, Sam fires multiple shots at the assailant, killing him on the spot.
One of the passengers then pleads with Sam to save Gabo, reminding her that he had single-handedly fought off the criminals and protected everyone on board. Upon hearing this, Sam immediately performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on him thrice. She was taken aback on her third attempt as she felt being taken advantage of by Gabo as he suddenly kissed her on the lips.
As it turned out, the bullet didn’t penetrate his body after his heirloom lucky coin that he kept in the upper pocket of his jacket had absorbed the impact and stopped the bullet. A humorous exchange follows as Sam and Gabo accuse each other of taking advantage of the other. Gabo jokingly threatens to file a complaint against her before asking for her name, saying that he finds her beautiful—much to her annoyance.
Just as Sam appears to be already losing her patience with him, the police backup she requested finally arrives, led by her older sister, Maxene (Arci Muñoz).
