We’ve always loved how Ellen Adarna doesn’t try too hard to impress anyone. Whether she’s talking about relationships, or motherhood, or life in general, she says things exactly the way they come to her mind.
We got to see that fun, no-filter side once again when she teamed up with Melai Cantiveros-Francisco for a challenge on "Kuan on One." They had to read situations from letter senders, then give advice using only two Bisaya words each per turn. Of course, what else were we expecting when two 'chaotic' Bisaya ladies get together in one game? Riot comedy!
In the first round, Melai and Ellen picked a letter from a sender asking for advice on how to tell a friend about their body odor. While the back and forth was too funny, Ellen actually came with a clever tip. Instead of directly calling the friend out, she suggested casually asking what deodorant brand they use since it doesn’t seem to be doing its job properly.
Meanwhile, Ellen needed just two words to drop a savage advice that would destroy the 'delulu' situation of a letter sender who struggles to move on from a crush she had been hoping would like her back. "Wake up!" was all Ellen could say.
Another sender found herself stuck in the biggest modern dating nightmare—situationship. This letter sender had been seeing a guy for quite a while already, but he still refused to make things official. Well, as girl’s girls, Melai and Ellen are very much on the same wavelength. They both believe no relationship should leave you constantly questioning your worth or where you truly stand in someone’s life.
The ladies then got hilariously invested in one sender’s problem about her husband always coming home late. The woman suspects he's cheating, so she'd like to know what she could do to catch him. Melai initially encouraged her to confront the husband directly, but of course, Kuantie couldn't resist dropping punchlines, joking that the letter sender should threaten to cut off her husband’s “something” if he still refuses to behave.
You know, one thing we could learn from this challenge is that advice doesn’t always have to come in the form of long dramatic speeches to land. Melai and Ellen delivered most of their thoughts with hilarity, but behind the jokes are some pretty solid real talk.
