The stars of the newest romantic-comedy film “Almost Us,” JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith—together known as JMFyang—made hearts flutter in a candid interview with host Bianca Gonzalez on the April 25 episode of “The B Side.” They opened up about their growth as actors, their experience filming the project, and their dynamic both on and off camera.
Moreover, in a short reel, JM and Fyang’s bond was put to the test in the “Who Knows Me Better” challenge, where they answered questions about each other’s random favorites. While they managed to get several answers right, they also hesitated on some of the answers along the way.
As for food, JM easily guessed that the Pinoy classic ‘tuyo’ is Fyang’s go-to meal, while Fyang revealed that JM’s favorite food is ‘monggo.’ For celebrity crushes, JM disclosed that Fyang admires the fictional character Michael Scofield from the American series “Prison Break.” Meanwhile, Fyang shared that JM is charmed by Kapamilya actress Kathryn Bernardo, whom they both confessed is their ultimate idol.
When it comes to their favorite movies, Fyang tried to answer for JM with “Ang Panday,” but he corrected her, saying his number one favorite is the 1994 action film “Mistah.” JM initially guessed Fyang’s favorite movie incorrectly, first thinking it was “The Hows of Us” or “Sisterakas,” but it turned out to be the 2011 hit “Praybeyt Benjamin.”
On their hidden talents, JM and Fyang shared a few quirks that fans wouldn’t expect. Though she paused for a while, Fyang eventually stated that JM can effortlessly move his ears, while JM revealed that Fyang can playfully flip her eyelids and lashes, a talent few can pull off.
As the game went on, JMFyang’s chemistry and friendship proved to be reflected not only in their on-screen partnership but also in how well they know each other’s likes and interests.
