In this ABS-CBN exclusive interview, Barbie enthusiastically outlines the three things that she loves the most about Jamilah.
#1: Jamilah is devoted to her family
During the relentless tragedies that both her family and community have no choice but to endure, all of Jamilah’s bravery, intellect, and selflessness absolutely emerge stronger than ever.
More than being an educational figure in her hometown at Isla Damai, Jamilah is also gradually evolving into the kind of savior that her people need, as seen through the harrowing moments when she rescued her fatally wounded brother, Jalil (Gerald Anderson) and went to NLEA’s press conference alone in order to ensure that her father, Datu Rahman (Jaime Fabregas), was in good condition after being arrested by Task Force Alpha.

Moreover, despite Jalil’s strict concern about his little sister’s safety, Jamilah still puts forth great effort to remain by his side, even checking into his situation at his temporary residence, away from Isla Damai and Barangay Surga.
#2: Jamilah doesn’t give up easily
When Jalil starts making plans to save Datu Rahman from the conspiring groups and syndicates allegedly linked to NLEA, Jamilah would frequently be discouraged from helping. Eventually, through her unwavering determination, Jamilah finally convinces Jalil of her capabilities.
Days after the massacre at Isla Damai and both Datu Rahman’s arrest by Task Force Alpha’s Marcus (Richard Gutierrez) and abduction by another unidentified group, Jamilah decides to be employed at S. Trinidad Hospital, where Marcus’ mother, Teresa (Susan Africa), is currently working.

Believing that she can acquire information about Datu Rahman’s whereabouts through Teresa, Jamilah maintains a professional interaction with her while dealing with a deep-seated resentment aimed at Marcus. Soon enough, after fighting back and being rescued from Metal 13, who made her a hostage, she realizes that there’s more to know about Marcus, particularly his investigation surrounding the truth of the Isla Damai Massacre.

#3: Jamilah adores and protects children
Back home at Isla Damai, Jamilah is known to impart knowledge to the youth, especially in health-related matters. One special instance shown was when she happily treated the small wound of Sitti (Zia Grace Bataan) and shared a hearty laugh after with the rest of her students.
