Since she’s one of the most recognizable personalities in the drag and LGBT+ community at present, Arizona Brandy—who was chosen by the lucky wheel to be the lucky star player in the May 24 episode of “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal”—was quizzed by host Luis Manzano about her coming-out story and drag journey.
When host Luis Manzano asked if the journey had been easy, Arizona admitted that she actually went through many struggles before finally gaining acceptance from her family.
“Hindi po, ang dami ko ring pinagdaanan,” she confessed. “Parang nilaban ko rin 'yon, Kuya Luis, 'yong acceptance [from] my family. Parang ngayon, proud ako sabihin na hindi na lang ako tino-tolerate ng family ko [dahil] accepted na nila ako."
Luis later asked Arizona what she would do if she won the P1 million jackpot. The drag performer revealed that she planned to give the entire amount to her mother as a way of thanking her for all the sacrifices she made for their family.
“Nag-work hard po siya nang malala. [Kahit] senior citizen na siya, nagwo-work pa rin siya. I think, time niya na para i-enjoy ang buhay niya,” she related. Then she quipped, “Para sa'yo 'to, Ma. If ever manalo ako ng P1 million, for you 'to. 'Pag hindi kasalanan mo 'to.”
