The ABS-CBN Studios musical variety show that made our Sundays more fun and extra entertaining over the past three decades has officially entered a new era as “ASAP XP”! For its debut episode last Sunday, May 17, a dazzling lineup of Kapamilya stars gathered at the Big Dome to provide an unforgettable spectacle packed with electrifying performances and crowd-thrilling moments.
Leading the highly anticipated opening number was the “Nation’s Girl Group” BINI, who marked their much-awaited homecoming with a vibrant performance of their hit song “Pantropiko”—recreating the same energy and excitement they brought to their historic appearance at Coachella last April. The audience erupted with cheers as fans waved Philippine flags and sang along to the group’s bright vocals and energetic choreography.

After expressing their gratitude to the Filipinos who supported them throughout their milestone international stint, BINI further hyped the crowd by welcoming everyone to the “new ASAP Experience.” OPM icons Martin Nievera, Gary Valenciano, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, and Zsa Zsa Padilla then took center stage for the second part of the opening number, delivering a powerhouse rendition of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’.”
Darren Espanto, Kyle Echarri, Robi Domingo, Kai Montinola, and Alexa Ilacad turned up the energy with a performance of Pitbull’s “Give Me Everything,” while Maymay Entrata, Carmelle Collado, and AC Bonifacio exuded diva charisma in their rendition of Kylie Minogue’s “On A Night Like This.” Meanwhile, Erik Santos, Angeline Quinto, Sofronio Vasquez, Jona, Klarisse de Guzman, Jason Dy, JM Dela Cerna, and Marielle Montellano gave a fresh spin to Dua Lipa’s “Dance the Night.”
The explosive opening segment culminated with all the featured artists returning to the stage to perform “Together Forever, ASAP Forever,” the official theme song of “ASAP XP.”
OPM rock icon Bamboo then treated viewers to a mini concert featuring stirring performances of “Hallelujah,” “Tatsulok,” and “Kisapmata.” Dressed in shimmering silver ensembles, Angeline Quinto and new-generation divas Alexa Ilacad, Kai Montinola, Esang de Torres, Carmelle Collado, and Elha Nympha wowed the audience with powerhouse renditions of Lady Gaga hits. The “Power Diva” later introduced a special birthday tribute for the one and only “Divine Diva” Zsa Zsa Padilla, as the young performers joined the celebrator in a heartfelt performance of Olivia Dean’s “So Easy To Fall In Love.”
Romance also filled the stage as four of today’s hottest Kapamilya loveteams spread kilig vibes through sweet duets of modern OPM love songs. Kai and Kyle charmed audiences in matching pink outfits while singing “Palagi” by real-life couple TJ Monterde and KZ Tandingan. JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith surely delighted avid JMFyang shippers with their performance of “Tahanan” by El Manu and Jessy Kang.
