Taking the lead in ABS-CBN’s primetime lineup, “Blood vs Duty” stands out as a promising spectacle. On top of its detailed and stunningly shot action sequences, the series deserves greater recognition for its brave and timely effort to address deeply rooted social issues, which include escalating gun-related violence, systemic corruption, and stigmatization of Muslims.
Bringing this remarkably meaningful teleserye to life are its outstanding ensemble, starting off with the main protagonists Richard Gutierrez as Marcus Reyes, the Task Force Alpha’s head agent, and Gerald Anderson as Jalil Abubakar, the leader of his Muslim community’s civilian defense service unit.
The actor-director Gerald, together with acclaimed action star Richard, truly form a duo of the highest caliber. In their first scene of conflict, where Marcus and Jalil battle to the death caused by the compromised mission of Task Force Alpha, they can be seen carefully working out their movements.

One of the leading actresses of the show, Barbie Imperial, beautifully lends a compassionate tone to the intense narrative. She embodies Jamilah Abubakar, the younger sister of Jalil, who is also a devoted nurse and educator to her people.
Barbie flawlessly conveys Jamilah’s good heart, most notably by expressing her heartwarming smile.

In the roles of the exceptionally skilled personnel of Task Force Alpha, actors Richard, Baron Geisler, Geoff Eigenmann, Elmo Magalona, Junjun Quintana, Dino Imperial, Antonio Aquintana, and Ace Carrera are likewise seen full of commitment throughout their performances.
With or without their uniforms and badges, they represent a real sense of teamwork, standing alongside one another.

Undoubtedly gaining anticipation among viewers for what lies ahead regarding his grief-stricken character, Gerald softly smiles as Jalil after being rescued by Jamilah.
