“ASAP” transformed its ever-thrilling venue into one that wholeheartedly embraced the bittersweet farewell of the hit primetime teleserye “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” a day ahead of its final week (March 9 to March 13).
As the leading figure of the show, Coco Martin confidently stepped up and began his passionate speech, his voice accented with a smiling tone. He expressed a deep appreciation for Kapamilyas who made the series a part of their daily lives.
“Tatlong taon, gabi-gabi po sinamahan n'yo kami sa inyong mga tahanan… Kahit saan man pong kaming istasyon mapadpad, nandyan pa rin po kayo at hindi n'yo kami binitawan,” he added.
The Primetime King also didn’t forget to extend his gratitude to ABS-CBN executives Carlo Katigbak, Mark Lopez, and Cory Vidanes, as well as highlighting the influence of the late Deo Endrinal, the head of Dreamscape Entertainment, who had produced the now iconic teleserye. “Kahit wala na po kayo dito, kayo po ang aming inspirasyon; kayo po ang nag-guide sa amin para mapabuti namin ang aming mga trabaho,” he conveyed.
He went on to list the whole production staff, including his co-directors and co-actors, who have unconditionally and tirelessly poured all of their energies into the meticulous development of each episode.
Coco also emphasized that the show isn’t just a mere spectacle but rather a livelihood for many, which then eventually evolved into a family. “Ginawa po namin siyang pamilya, ginawa po namin siyang buhay na po namin,” he underscored.
He concluded his grand message by personally thanking Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano, who had just performed the teleserye’s theme song, “Kapalaran.” The two gentlemen then got into a comforting embrace.
Don’t miss the finale week of “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo”, soon to be succeeded by “Sigabo,” which also features Coco alongside Julia Montes, reviving their on-screen tandem.
