In the months that followed Edong’s (Jake Cuenca) demise, Louisa’s (Mutya Orquia) death anniversary brought together Erica (Kaila Estrada), Beth (Charlie Dizon), Alice (Janella Salvador), and Mel (Sue Ramirez), as well as their families, and Marco (Race Matias).
Lucas (JM de Guzman) embraces the chance to converse with Erica for the last time before he leaves for Europe to carry out his promise with his late friend, Steve (Christian Ty). Without hesitation, Lucas also admits that he didn’t regret taking his own brother’s life to save the MABEL girls; yet at the same time, he remains emotionally scarred by making that crucial decision.
Wistfully, Erica confronts the reality of how closely their lives are intertwined, not through destiny or an invisible string, but rather through a heavy chain that keeps harming them both, triggering memories of the traumas that separated them earlier in their lives.
Erica and Lucas concur on the idea of going their separate ways, with Lucas hopeful that they might have been together in another life had it not been for the terrible situations that caused them to be unfit for each other.
Soon enough, the two equally stipulate that they’ll see each other again in the future, believing that fate will eventually grant them a kinder reconnection. He then offers Erica a box stuffed with familiar chocolates to celebrate her birthday, and she moves closer to him while he closes his eyes.
