Vincent (Paulo Avelino) tells Stella (Kim Chiu) what his relationship with Claudia (Sofia Andres) has gone through in the March 30 episode of “The Alibi.”
After Claudia’s repeated crashes due to her drug addiction, Vincent continues to take care of her. “You know what, you’re selfish. Dahil pinagpalit mo ako diyan sa pangarap mo, ‘yang walang kwenta mong pangarap,” Claudia tells Vincent. Stella, who happens to pass by the room after helping Bea (Ayesha Bajeta) get to sleep, overhears their conversation.
“You deserve everything that’s happening to you. Everything,” Claudia adds, even wishing Vincent would go to jail. She calls him a worthless son while he continues to clean her up. “A loser husband, terrible father,” Claudia remarks. Confusion begins to linger in Stella, who wonders why Claudia is treating Vincent that way.
Later on, Vincent expresses his gratitude to Stella for helping them take care of Bea for a while. Stella nods, but then lightly hits Vincent. “Sana hindi magmana yung anak mo sa pagiging siraulo mo. Ngayong gabi nalaman ko na may baril ka. Akala ko ba hindi natin ilalaglag ang isa’t isa?” Stella asks. Vincent reminds her that she volunteered to come along with him, and she reasons back that she didn’t want any harm to happen to him.
When Stella asks why he possesses a gun, Vincent explains that it is for protection, given his line of work as a journalist. Eventually, Stella asks if Vincent has known for a long time about Claudia’s obsession with drugs. “Ilang beses ko na siyang sinubukang tulungan. Ilang beses ko na rin pinaglaban nang maayos yung pagsasama namin para kay Bea.” Vincent admits that he was also at fault for tolerating Claudia, expecting her behavior would change, but it never did. “Kahit mahirap, sinarili ko para sa anak namin,” he says.
