Stella (Kim Chiu) is forced to tell the public that she and Vincent (Paulo Avelino) are in a relationship in the March 24 episode of “The Alibi.”
After the interrogation of Vincent and Stella, the two briefly talk outside the police station. “Nasabi mo ba lahat?” Vincent asks Stella, who had memorized every detail from the folder he gave her. “The details are very important.” This is then followed by a quiet “Thank you” from Vincent.
Stella is evidently stressed by the situation. “Iniisip ko lang, kung totoong hindi ikaw ang pumatay, bakit kailangan ko pang pumunta dito? Bakit kailangan mo pa ako?” she asks, to which Vincent explains that he is trying to solidify his statement so the authorities will no longer suspect him. “Your statement is my protection,” he says.
“Yung namatay, kaano-ano mo ba yun?” Stella gets curious about Walter (Sam Milby), who is not related to Vincent, as he is merely an employee of Arthur (John Arcilla). “Wala ba siyang pamilya? Asawa? O di kaya anak?” Stella asks further, and Vincent simply answers that Walter has no family that he knows of. Vincent questions Stella as to why she is asking, to which she simply replies, “Wala, nagtatanong lang.”
Vincent excuses himself, saying he would talk to his lawyer, leaving her by the parking area. Seconds later, the media rushes toward Stella and corners her with questions regarding Vincent’s possible involvement in Walter’s death. When Stella is pressured by their questions, particularly about her relationship with Vincent, she cannot help but admit that she is in a romantic relationship with him.
Running away from the chaos, Vincent immediately confronts Stella about why she said they were a couple, especially since he has a wife and family. “Kinukuyog nila ako, halos hilahin nila yung dila ko para magsalita ako. Anong gusto mo?” However, Vincent remains furious. “Iniisip ko lang kasi yung katiting na dignidad na meron ako, dahil ayokong ipagsigawan sa lahat na pokpok ako!” Stella reasons, tears welling up in her eyes.
“Kung komplikado yung buhay mo, hindi lang sayo umiikot ang mundo,” Stella adds, reminding him that her family is also at stake in what they are doing. “Hindi porket bayaran mo ko, hawak mo na yung buhay ko,” she says, later asking Vincent about the money he promised in exchange for her help. Stella leaves him, crying over what just happened.
