From watching their adorable bond inside Bahay ni Kuya, fans of “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0” 2nd Big Placers Krystal Mejes and Heath Jornales who got to attend “The Ultim8 Kapamilya Chat Meet and Greet” were finally able to catch their cute interactions in person!
With the massive amount of love and support they got from everyone as soon as they returned to the outside world, Krystal conveyed that she still finds it unbelievable. However, she’s grateful to finally get to see and mingle with them in the flesh, as well as hear their loud shrieks for her and the rest of the Ultimate 8. Heath is also filled with gratitude and appreciation for all the affection and efforts that his supporters have been pouring onto him.
Throughout their more than 100 days of staying inside the house, we’d witnessed how the “PBB Collab 2.0” housemates had formed genuine connections and strong friendships. As days, weeks, and months went by, various pairings and cliques were established, which ardent followers from the outside world began to avidly “ship” or support.
Among them is Krystal’s admirable bond with fellow Kapamilya housemates Eliza Borromeo and Carmelle Collado, fondly dubbed by fans as the “Cancer Babies” due to their shared astrological sign. She recounted being absolutely stoked upon learning on their very first night at the “PBB” house that their birthdays are actually just a few days from each other—Krystal celebrates her birthday every July 12, Carmelle every July 16, and Eliza every July 18. And they’d been inseparable ever since that first-ever encounter.
Meanwhile, she imparted that her friendship with Kapuso Big Winner Caprice Cayetano only began at the latter part of the show since they actually didn’t talk that much with each other during the first few weeks—yet they cared for each other, nonetheless.
“We weren’t really having conversations pa kasi nga madami pa kami doon sa loob. And then I noticed noong paunti na kami nang paunti, doon na nag-start ‘yong friendship talaga namin ni CapCap. Doon na kami naging mas attentive sa isa’t isa, doon na kami mas nangungumusta, mas nakakapag-usap. Doon na rin lumabas ‘yong kulit ni CapCap sa akin at saka ‘yong kulit ko rin sa kanya. Na-maintain naman namin ‘yon hanggang sa paglabas,” she related.
When asked if she considers Caprice to be one of her possible final duos—had that been an option in their edition—Krystal didn’t hesitate to answer, “Of course!” She actually told Caprice about that, and her best friend Carmelle knows it as well.
Heath’s lovely brotherhood with fellow Kapuso housemate Lee Victor was also brought up in the interview, which, according to him, started quite a long time ago when they were still attending workshops around 2022 and 2023. He even recalled calling Lee “kuya” back then since he was taller than him. Thus, he was glad upon seeing him enter Kuya’s house as well.
Krystal and Heath then went on to reminisce about their fondest memories with each other inside the house, with the “Wishful Waray ng Samar” saying that it would be that time when he chose to share with her the special meal that he had prepared as part of Kuya’s gift for him as one of the nominees for that particular week.
“I remember no’ng time na ‘yon, I was really kind of feeling down. Tapos si Carmelle and si Heath, they gave me a meal; pinili nila ako na makasalo nila. And I really, really appreciated Buzzbear that time. Super,” Krystal imparted. She added that Heath even shaped the pancakes he prepared for her into a star, as inspired by her nickname “Tala.”
On the other hand, the “Fighting Prince ng Taguig” looked back on their “Build and Balance” weekly task, wherein they had to construct and balance a pair of towers made up of wooden blocks on the opposite sides of a seesaw with uneven weight. They were both members of Team Soaring Langga at the time, alongside John Clifford and Miguel Vergara. Although it was truly challenging, they still enjoyed it as he remembered how they laughed almost the entire duration of their turn in taking on the task.
The interview proper wrapped with Krystal commenting on the praises she got for her impressive portrayal of the young Erica Melendez (Kaila Estrada) in the well-loved ABS-CBN Studios series “What Lies Beneath” from avid viewers and the main stars alike. She was also asked to show a sample of her promising acting chops twice, while Heath was requested to sing a snippet of his own composition titled, “Back To You,” which he debuted inside Bahay ni Kuya.
