Their onscreen chemistry never fails to make us swoon every time they appear together! Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino, famously known as KimPau, have starred in multiple projects that let us feel the sting of betrayal, confront hidden traumas, and experience the magic of finding one true love, all brought to life through their love team.
Before KimPau lets us in on another side we’re about to witness in “The Alibi,” let’s first look back on the projects where they didn’t just take over our screens, but also captured our hearts.
Linlang (2023)
The beginning of it all for KimPau traces back to the 2023 romantic thriller series “Linlang.” Paulo Avelino took on the role of boxer-seaman Victor Lualhati, a husband determined to uncover the betrayal of his wife, Juliana, played by Kim Chiu. Their unexpected chemistry quickly gained attention from a wide range of audiences.
"Linlang" debuted on Prime Video Philippines before making its way to free television. The show, which was among the best of 2023–2024, won several accolades, including Best TV Series and Best Drama Actress for Kim Chiu.
What's Wrong With Secretary Kim (2024)
Kim and Paulo went on to star in the Philippine adaptation of the popular Korean drama "What's Wrong With Secretary Kim?” which formally introduced them as a loveteam. 'Kim brought to life the character of Kimberly Liwanag, a competent secretary to Brandon Manansala Castillo, played by Paulo, who is portrayed as a narcissistic boss. The two fall in love as the story unfolds, but their relationship is tested by revelations.
In March 2024, the show was released on the streaming platform Viu, and later made its TV debut in May 2024. It later won several awards, including the 2024 Asian Academy Creative Awards' Best Adaptation of an Existing Format for Fiction.
KimPau eventually made their big-screen debut in the romantic comedy “My Love Will Make You Disappear.” The film premiered in 2025 and became a global box office hit, further solidifying their popularity.
The Alibi (2026)
Building on that success, KimPau will reach yet another significant milestone in 2026 with their murder-mystery romance drama "The Alibi." Kim plays Stella Morales, a seductive escort who takes on the role of providing for her family. Her life takes a complicated turn when she crosses paths with Vincent Cabrera, the heir to a news empire, played by Paulo.
The on-screen pair is once again set to captivate audiences with a new story. The series centers on Vincent hiring Stella to serve as his “alibi” on the night of a crime. As the story unfolds, secrets tied to their complex web of deceit begin to surface, exploring themes of lies, temptation, and affairs.
The online version of “The Alibi” was the number one show on Prime Video Philippines when it premiered on the streaming platform in November last year.
KimPau headlines ABS-CBN’s primetime block starting March 16 (Monday), at 8 PM with their much-awaited suspense drama, “The Alibi: Ang Buong Katotohanan,” that will showcase a longer version and never-before-seen scenes.
