In a tragic turn of events, Katkat, the child of an Amurao resident, sets out to run an errand in the middle of the night. Hesitant and fearful of the darkness and its dangers, she protests, but her mother insists.
Unbeknownst to them, Katkat would soon be abducted and assaulted by an unknown assailant, never to be seen again.
Morning arrives at Edward’s (Joel Molina) residence. Althea (Andi Abaya), accompanied by her father and speaking with her mother on the phone, tends to Christina (Emma Viri) while waiting for Edward to arrive.
As soon as he appears, Edward (Joel Molina) adopts an apologetic demeanor, mainly because of his late return and his ignorance of the false alarm regarding Edong’s (Jake Cuenca) return to the house. He goes on to explain what happened while he was away, mentioning that he became completely exhausted from preparing the church donations and eventually fell asleep in the van instead of going straight home.
As all this unfolds, Katkat’s mother pleads with the townspeople to help search for her daughter. In that moment, it becomes clear that Edward had passed by, wickedly smirking at the sight of her desperation.
More of that shocking night is revealed, unveiling Edward frantically digging in an empty lot. He opens the back of his van, briefly staring at the lifeless face of Katkat, whom he carries and buries, before obsessively inhaling the scent of her hair tie—a lingering remnant of her.
Edong’s voice then echoes, exposing Edward’s devilish identity and how he had fooled everyone into believing he was the kindest churchgoer and the ideal husband. Filled with disgust and resentment, Edong declares that Edward won’t be able to stop him from exacting revenge on MABEL.
